To elaborate on my point I wish to give an example of a 1950 500cc. Triumph Speed Twin motorcycle that I once owned. It only had 28 hp. and went just about as fast in 3rd gear as top--4th--gear. Same speed, only the engine was allowed to turn lower revs. in top gear!!
